Minnesota Pole Vault
Classic XII 2003
- You are cordially invited to a pole vault competition to be held in St. Cloud, MN on Saturday July
5th, 2003. The
competition will start @ 10 am and should conclude at about 5 pm. The crossbar will start
at 5'0" and will gain altitude as the competition progresses. Places one through
eight will be awarded engraved medallions, and the winner will have their name engraved on
the traveling plaque.
- Vaulters, ages 8 to 80+ are invited to bring your friends and family to cheer you on to
greater heights and participate in a celebration of the pole vault. You are also
encouraged to bring all the "fixins" for a picnic for your family, fans, and
friends, (Lawn chairs, grills, sun umbrellas, sun screen, coolers ...) as we will plan an
informal get together at the end of the competition. If
you can bring some extra to share in a pot luck style it will be greatly appreciated by
all.
The competition will be organized so that all pole vaulters (male and female) will compete against each
other based on the height an athlete can achieve in their best of five vaults as compared
to their USAT&F age group record.
EXAMPLES
vaulter A age 23 jumps 15'4"/ record = 19'8" = 76.3% 2nd Place
vaulter B age 14 jumps 10'6"/ record = 14'0.5" = 74.7% 3rd Place
vaulter C age 57 jumps 11'0"/ record = 13'6.25" =81.5% 1st Place
vaulter D age 19 jumps 13'3"/ record = 18'3.25" =72.5% 4th Place
- As you can see it isn't always the highest jump that wins in an age graded vault off. In
a competition such as this, everyone comes away a winner. We look forward to seeing you on
the 5th of July for the Minnesota Pole Vault Classic 2003.
ALL VAULTERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CLASSIC.
PLEASE EMAIL KEVIN WITH ANY QUESTIONS.
DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE AND HAVE A GREAT VAULT EXPERIENCE.
