What is your Personal Best or Your Athletes Best (Basic Background)
- My personal best as an 8th Grader this year was 10'.
1) What is the single most important thing in the Pole Vault?
2) What makes a great approach?
3) What makes a great plant? - Your speed... You have to be at max. speed when you hit the box.
4) What makes a great swing up? - Keeping your knees up to your chest, and then kicking over the bar.
5) What makes a great top? - Kicking your legs over the bar and turning, while you release the pole.
6) What advice do you have for the off/pre season? - Lift weights, and go to camps.
7) What are your favorite drills for the Pole Vault? - Don't really have any. Just a little competition with you teamates.
8) What advice do you have on a Vaulters grip width? - Whatever feels comfortable...
9) What advice do have on a height of a Vaulters hand-hold?- Whatever feels comfortable...
10) What advice do you have on how to keep the Pole Vault Safe? - Play safe and don't play around, take it seriously.(sp?)
