What is your Personal Best or Your Athletes Best (Basic Background)
- my personal is 9" and i have only been vaulting for 2-3 months
1) What is the single most important thing in the Pole Vault?
2) What makes a great approach?
3) What makes a great plant? - not to look at the plant box just run right through and you will naturally know where but the only problem is you must watch your timing [if you have good timing you should have a succesful plant]!
4) What makes a great swing up? - reach for the stars and nothing less!
5) What makes a great top?
6) What advice do you have for the off/pre season? - weight lifting is also a key to polevaulting it help prepare you for the up coming season
7) What are your favorite drills for the Pole Vault? - take a hurdle and set it behind you and lay back and kick up your legs and push yourself to stand up on the other side of the hurdle. [it is hard but it works well]
8) What advice do you have on a Vaulters grip width? - grip about a waste length apart from hand to hand
9) What advice do have on a height of a Vaulters hand-hold?- basically hold the height on the pole the height you are jumping
10) What advice do you have on how to keep the Pole Vault Safe? - listen to your coach,watch your back, use a spotter often, and don't mess around.
