What is your Personal Best or Your Athletes Best (Basic Background)
- 10'6" I have vaulted for 1 year and it is the
best sport
1) What is the single most important thing in the Pole Vault? - to have fun while getting vertical
2) What makes a great approach? - high knees and a rhythmatic run
3) What makes a great plant? - to jump up through your top arm
4) What makes a great swing up? - make sure your lead leg hits your shoulder and your trail leg is straight
5) What makes a great top? - i wouldn't know my top sucks
6) What advice do you have for the off/pre season? - hit the weights and run and keep up your gymnastic stregth
7) What are your favorite drills for the Pole Vault? - the "sully",rock back, and 1 arm drills
8) What advice do you have on a Vaulters grip width? - shoulder width so you have more flexibility to get vertical
9) What advice do have on a height of a Vaulters hand-hold?- a height so there is not to much pole speed,
but also make sure you will get in the pits
10) What advice do you have on how to keep the Pole Vault Safe? - don't be stupid and use the right size of pole and if your tired sit your butt down
